Strengthening Gender and Social Inclusion Data and Analysis in Lao PDR’ Statistics System

USAID Okard joined forces with Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Lao Statistics Bureau (LSB) for conducting Training of Trainers for the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare with the topic on “Strengthening Gender and Social Inclusion Data and Analysis in Lao PDR’ Statistics System”.
During the intensive training course from 29 April – 3 May 2024, the government of Laos participants and Organizations for Persons with Disabilities representatives learn about the core concepts of gender equality, disability, social inclusion (GEDSI), equity, identities, and intersectionality which are timely and relevant to their day to day work implementation. What’s more? The participants had a chance to build up skills in designing surveys that capture disaggregated data, impart techniques for analyzing multidimensional data using quantitative and qualitative methods, improve abilities to communicate data-driven insights through compelling narratives and policy recommendations; and promote collaboration among participants for coordinating data collection, fostering partnerships, and crafting disability-inclusive strategies aligned with national development goals.
The participants are now well-equipped and confident to become trainers themselves and share their knowledge and to promote a more inclusive society. USAID Okard is proud to support this important initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the community.
